CSAPS on 3D matrix

I would like to use csaps to smooth some data I have. I understand the concept of the function and it seems to work fine for smoothing vectors. BUT I would like to smooth matrices. I have a 3D matrix where the 3rd dimension represents time. I would like to smooth the matrices along the time axis. Does anyone know where I would start with this?
